RRB Group D Recruitment 2019
The much awaited recruitment drive has come. Railway Recruitment Board has come up with a total of 62907 vacancies all over India for Group-D posts. Group D includes posts like- Helper, Hospital Attendant, Gateman, Porter, Assistant Pointsman, Sweeper etc.

Date of publishing advertisement: 10 Feb 2019
Start Date of online application: 10 Feb 2019
End date of online application: 12 Mar 2019 up to 23 : 59 hrs.
Tentative date for computer based test (CBT): April - May 2019

Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility related to age and education will be described over here. As RRB has made relaxation of two years to Unreserved category candidates as well. The lower and upper age limit indicated in the vacancy table will be calculated as on 01.07.2019.

Application fees and payment details:
Application fees for Candidates belonging to Unreserved and OBC category: Rs. 500*
Application fees for Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWDs/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically backward class/ Ex- serviceman: Rs. 250**
This application fee is subject to refund is the candidate has given the examination.

*Rs. 400 will be refunded if candidate has given the exam.
**Rs. 250 will be refunded if candidate has given the exam.

Mode of payment:
Payment could be made either (A) Online or (B) Offline.

(A) Online: Online payment can be done through internet banking/ ATM/ debit card/ credit card.
(B) Offline: Offline payment can be through:
      I. SBI Bank Challan Payment mode closes on 12.03.2019 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of SBI.
      II. Post Office Challan Payment mode closes on 10.03.2019 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of computerized Post Office.

Document Verification:
After qualifying CBT and PET, candidates will be called for document verification. 
  • In case of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., older person shall be given higher seniority.
  • Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
  • RRBs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administrations.
How to Apply for RRB Group D posts:
Candidates must ensure the following things while filling up the online form.

A.Candidate Photograph in color: JPEG image of size 20 to 50KB.
B.SC/ST Certificate (Only for candidates seeking free travel pass): JPEG image of size 50 to 100KB.
C.Scribe Photograph in color (Wherever applicable): JPEG image of size 20 to 50KB.

Steps for online application-
  • Go through the official website of respective RRB Zone  and click on Recruitment option.
  • A link for online application will be displayed.
  • Click on the " New Registration link".
  • Fill the details carefully and apply for the desired post before submitting.
  • A Registration number and password will be displayed on the screen.
  • Login again using the same registration number and password
  • Fill the relevant details very carefully.
  • Make the application fee payment through net banking/ debit card/ credit card/ e-challan/ pay-in-slip payable any bank .
  • Now affix your passport sized photograph and signature along with left-hand thumb impression, also copy the declaration.
  • Scan the filled template as per the format.
  • Submit the application form and keep a copy of it for further use.

EXAM PATTERN


Recruitment Process and Exam Pattern:
The recruitment process is of three tiers. First a Computer based test (CBT) will be taken followed by Physical Efficiency test (PET), then Document Verification in the last.

Computer Based Test (CBT):

Total Duration: 90 minutes
Total number of Questions: 100

Mathematics 90 minutes Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
General Science Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard.
General Awareness Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.
 
Negative Marking:
There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers which means marks equivalent to the 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories:

UR 40%
OBC 30%
SC/ST 30%
 
 
These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET two times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs.

Male candidates Female candidates
Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
and
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
and
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
 
Note- PWDs are exempted from PET.
