SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria:

 
The eligibility criteria are the specific requirements that must be met in order for a candidate to be eligible to appear for the exam. SSC MTS Essential Educational Qualification

 
To apply for the post of MTS and Havaldar in CBN & Havaldar in CBIC SSC MTS Examination, the candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on or before the cut-off date.
 

SSC MTS  Age Limit

 
To apply for the post of SSC MTS, the age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:
  • 18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1998 and not later than 01.01.2005) for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue).
  • 18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1996 and not later than 01.01.2005) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and a few posts of MTS. 
However, there will be age relaxations in the upper age limit for different categories as follows:

Nationality / Citizenship:

 
A candidate must be either –

I. A Citizen of India or

II. A subject of Nepal or

III. A subject of Bhutan or

IV. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

V. A  person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
 

SSC MTS Application Fees

 
To successfully submit your SSC MTS Online Application Form, you are required to pay the application fee for the exam. Candidates belonging to UR/OBC category have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/-. While women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.

The application fees for SSC MTS would be as follows. Candidates can pay the application Fees for the SSC MTS examination through online mode or make cash payments through the challan of SBI.

EXAM PATTERN


SSC MTS Examination Pattern

 
The SSC MTS examination will consist of

→ A Computer Based Examination

→ Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar).
 

Stage I - Computer-Based Examination

 
• Computer-Based Examination will be conducted in two Sessions: Session-I and Session-II and it is mandatory to attempt both sessions. Not attempting any session will disqualify the candidate.

• There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, there will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.

• The performance of the candidate in Session-I will be evaluated first and performance in Session II would be evaluated only if a candidate qualifies in Session-I.

• For the post of MTS, Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Session II of CBE.

• The merit list would be prepared solely based on performance in Session II. Normalized scores of the candidates will be used to determine merit in CBE.

• For the post of MTS, based on the performance in Session II of CBE, candidates will be considered for the final merit list.

• For the post of Havaldar, based on performance in Session-II of CBE and subject to qualifying in PET/ PST, candidates will be considered for the final merit list.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

 
Minimum qualifying marks in Session-I and as well as in Session-II of the Computer-Based Examination are as follows:

UR: 30%

OBC/ EWS: 25%

All other categories: 20%
 

Stage – II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

 
• Only those candidates who successfully qualify for the objective test (Paper I) would be called for this round.

• Physical Efficiency Tests & physical standard tests would be conducted for the candidates who applied for the post of Havaldaar in CBIC & CBN.

• For the post of Havaldar, candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:5 (vacancies: candidates) for appearing in PET/ PST.

• Normalized scores of the candidates will be used to determine merit in CBE.

Physical Standard Test (PST):

The minimum physical standards for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are as follows:
